Don't Miss These Corrections For CPT 2005

If you use the AMA's manual, get out your red pen to make changes

CPT Codes added plenty of guidelines for vascular procedures in 2005, but not all of them made their way into the AMA manual without error.

In both the "Aorta and Arteries" and "Veins and Lymphatics" subsections of your guidelines, search out the lists regarding diagnostic procedure codes not being used with interventional radiology codes. The lists end with "3) Post-angioplasty/stent ..." The correction changes the line at the end of the list from "as this work is captured in the interventional procedure code(s)" to "as this work is captured in the interventional radiologic supervision and interpretation code(s)."
