Recently, Mayo Clinic and Microsoft announced the two organizations are pairing up to build and implement a frontier AI model designed exclusively for healthcare. The collaboration of healthcare knowledge, de-identified health data, advanced AI, cloud, and engineering aims to design an AI model that can effectively back clinical reasoning and healthcare use cases. “Mayo Clinic is committed to putting patients first, and we have long believed AI can help transform healthcare,” said Gianrico Farrugia, MD, president and CEO of Mayo Clinic. “Now, by combining our clinical expertise and data foundation with Microsoft’s engineering and AI capabilities, we are once again building something new in healthcare and bringing more of Mayo Clinic to more patients,” Farrugia said in an announcement.
