Learn Which Networks Are Designated QHINs for TEFCA

Question: In the article “Everything You Need to Know About Participating in the TEFCA,” you mentioned that participants in the agreement are Qualified Health Information Networks (QHINs). What networks have signed on to be a part of the agreement?

Answer: As of publication, 11 QHINs have successfully completed the onboarding process for the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA). These networks include, but are not limited to:

  • Epic Nexus
  • Health Gorilla
  • CommonWell Health Alliance
  • Konza Health
  • Netsmart

Networks that are currently in the onboarding phase are referred to as candidate QHINs.

One network that recently received designation as a QHIN is the Oracle Health Information Network. Oracle announced the TEFCA QHIN designation on November 20 in a press release.

“We believe data interoperability isn’t a technical goal; it’s the key to unlocking the solution to many problems in healthcare, from harnessing the power of AI, improving quality of care and health outcomes, and scaling value-based care,” said Seema Verma, executive vice president and general manager for Oracle Health and Life Sciences, in a press release.
