Check Your Diagnostic Imaging POS Assignments Carefully This Fall

You may find you need POS 22 more often than you did before.Nearly every urologist performs a radiology interpretation and report at some point. That's why you need to get familiar with CMS's new place of service (POS) rule. The latest rule states that the POS code you report for your urologist needs to reflect the "setting in which the beneficiary received the face-to-face service," according to MLN Matters MM7631. CMS has created exceptions to the rule, however, so be sure to read the rule in full and pay attention to each element.
