Choose 50590 or 52353 for Stone Fragmentation

Answer: If the fragmentation was done via the ureteroscopic procedure, then you should report new code 52356 (Cystourethroscopy, with ureteroscopy and/or pyeloscopy; with lithotripsy including insertion of indwelling ureteral stent [eg, Gibbons or double-J type]) for the stone fragmentation and stent placement.
