Question: Should we use CPT 54410 or CPT 54416 for removal and replacement of an inflatable penile prosthesis? New York Subscriber Answer: You should use 54410 (Removal and replacement of all component[s] of a multi-component, inflatable penile prosthesis at the same operative session) or 54416 (Removal and replacement of non-inflatable [semi-rigid] or inflatable [self-contained] penile prosthesis at the same operative session) based on the type of prosthesis involved. For a multicomponent prosthesis, use 54410. For a self-contained prosthesis, use 54416.
