Zero In on These Additional Edits

• Pelvic exenteration code 51597 now includes new 2007 colectomy codes CPT 44157 and CPT 44158, and the new 2007 laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy codes 58541-58544. The modifier indicator for these edits is “1.”

• NCCI Edits 13.0 bundles ventral/incisional hernia repair codes 49560-49566 and the new 2007 supracervical hysterectomy codes 58541-58544 as column 2 codes in various combinations into column 1 hysterectomy and uterine excisional codes 58150-58294, 58550-58554 and 58943-58958. These edits have a modifier indicator of “1.”

• NCCI now also bundles 69990 into 58541-58544 but with a modifier indicator “0,” preventing any unbundling.

• The new 2007 codes 58541-58544 now include the codes for intravenous access 36000, 36410, 37202, placement of a naso-gastric tube 43752, enterolysis code 44180, diagnostic laparoscopy 49320, ureterolysis 50715, urethral catheterization codes 51701, 51702, pelvic exam under anesthesia 57410, uterine excisional and hysterectomy procedures 58100, 58140-58146, 58260, 58545, 58546, hysteroscopy 58558, 58661, laparoscopy codes 58670-58673, salpingectomy codes 58700, 58720, oophorectomy 58940, diagnostic and therapeutic nervous system codes 62318, 62319, 64415-64417, 64430, 64435, 64450, 64470, 64475, and intravenous and other injection codes 90760, 90765, 90772, 90774, and 90775 -- all with a modifier indicator of “1.”
