The topic of discussion in our office lately has been around a patient having an AWV and whether we should be using Z00.00 or Z00.01 when capturing the additional HCC's.
 
For the Health Plan I am working for, we educate our providers to bill Z00.00, along with any appropriate diagnosis code(s) for all chronic conditions assessed and addressed.

Remember that the purpose of an AWV is a routine check-up, and not a Problem-Focused visit, which Z00.01 tends to steer towards.
