We are a PCP office and have patient's that have spots removed using cryosurgery/liquid nitrogen. If they are in for an office visit we code the office visit but what do we use coding wise for the removal of the skin tags/lesions. I have researched and am finding different codes such as (17000, 17003, 17004) but then I am also finding 11200 codes. Please help

The reason for the different codes are based on the diagnosis. Skin tags are different codes than benign lesions, and different than malignant lesions. The methods of removal vs destruction can also result in different codes being used.
If they are documented skin tags, then 11200 for first 15, and 11201 for each additional 10 no matter how they are removed.
https://www.aafp.org/fpm/2005/1000/p47.html is a good article to help explain the different series of codes.
