Hello,
I previously worked for an employer who would code their OT/PT evaluations/re-evaluations with a session code depending on the length of the evaluation session - for example would code:
1 hour OT evaluation
97003 - 1 unit
97530 - 4 units (60 minutes)
With the new changes for the OT/PT eval coding with the tiers of severity, can you still code these evaluation codes with a session code? These new codes have timing recommendations associated with them although they are untimed codes. For example if we have another 60 minute low-severity evaluation, can we code like the following:
97165 - 1 unit (typically 30 minutes)
97530 - 2 units (30 minutes)
To account for the full 60 minutes spent with the client? Same question for the PT eval/re-eval coding.
Thanks so much!
