Question: A previous issue said there would be a new CPT® code for AAA ultrasound screening in 2017. Will the HCPCS code be deleted?

Answer: Yes, HCPCS 2017 deletes G0389 (Ultrasound B-scan and/or real time with image documentation; for abdominal aortic aneurysm [AAA] screening).
CPT® 2017 adds 76706 (Ultrasound, abdominal aorta, real time with image documentation, screening study for abdominal aortic aneurysm [AAA]).
