Know Your FISS Status Codes To Speed Claims Payment

Don't waste time trying to change claims that are in an 'S' location. Wondering what's going on with a claim you submitted? Check out your Fiscal Intermediary Shared System (FISS) status code to help figure it out, suggests Home Health & Hospice Medicare Administrative Contractor Palmetto GBA in a new article on its website. For example, status codes P B7501 and P B7505 indicate post-pay review, Palmetto explains. Tip: Providers cannot make changes to claims in an "S" status location, Palmetto notes.
