Post-Acute Chain Buys New Mexico Agency

A subsidiary of holding company Skilled Healthcare Group Inc. plans to buy HHA Altura Homecare & Rehab in Albuquerque, N.M. "The acquisition is an important step in implementing our strategic plan to offer home health and hospice services in markets where we have a strong skilled nursing presence," Boyd Hendrickson, CEO of Foothill Ranch, Calif.-based Skilled Healthcare Group, says in a release. The purchase, which is expected to close in July, "will provide growth opportunities for both Altura and our existing Albuquerque skilled nursing and hospice companies," Hendrickson says in the release. And it "will provide growth opportunities for both Altura and our existing Albuquerque skilled nursing and hospice companies." Altura was established in 2006.
