Don’t leave out Interdisciplinary Group documentation when you respond to a hospice medical review request. “When submitting documentation for an additional development request (ADR), ensure inclusion of IDG reviews/POC updates for each 15-day period to cover the billing period under review. This may include reviews/updates that occurred prior to the billing period,” HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor CGS says in a recent website post. For example: For a claim with dates of service Oct. 1, 2019, to Oct. 31, 2019, with IDG reviews/POC updates that occurred Sept. 27, Oct. 11, and Oct. 25, you should “include the IDG review/POC update from September 27th to cover the dates of service October 1st to October 10th under review,” CGS explains.
