SNF Quality Reporting Program:

Keep These Quality Measures In Mind

You can start preparing now for quality measure reporting that will come into play this October for fiscal year 2020. Check out these measures; data collection begins Oct. 1, 2018 through Dec. 31, 2018, for the first year.

  • Drug Regimen Review
  • Change in Skin Integrity: Post-Acute Care Pressure Ulcer/Injury
  • Outcome Measure: Change in Self-Care Score
  • Outcome Measure: Discharge Self-Care Score
  • Outcome Measure: Change in Mobility Score
  • Outcome Measure: Discharge Mobility Score

"You must submit 80 percent of assessment that contains 100 percent of data needed to calculate all of these measures," says Jessie McGill Rn, RaC-Mt, curriculum development specialist at the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination (AANAC) in Denver in a recent webinar about upcoming changes to the MDS.

A 2 percent reduction to the annual payment update (APU) for noncompliance will be applied for Fiscal Year 2020, on Oct. 1, 2019.
