A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to expand Medicare benefits to prevent, delay, and minimize the progression of chronic conditions, and develop national policies on effective chronic-condition care. Introduced June 4 by Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA), referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Committee on Ways and Means. H.R. 2343. A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to exclude services of certain providers from the skilled nursing facility prospective payment system under the Medicare program. Introduced June 4 by Rep. Dave Weldon (R-FL), referred to the Committee on Ways and Means and the Committee on Energy and Commerce. H.R. 2361. A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to waive the Part B late enrollment penalty for military retirees who enroll by December 31, 2004, and to provide a special Part B enrollment period for such retirees. Introduced June 5 by Rep. Ben Cardin (D-MD), referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Committee on Ways and Means.
