Discover Why 99360 Is Your Best Bet

Question: My doctor did monitoring of her patient’s fetus while the patient was having a ureteral stent placed by another physician. How should I code this?

Answer: Code 99360 (Standby service, requiring prolonged attendance, each 30 minutes [e.g., operative standby, standby for frozen section, for cesarean/high risk delivery, for monitoring EEG]) is your best bet.

Note: This replaced the old code 99151, which was for prolonged physician attendance for fetal monitoring.
