Ophthalmology and Optometry Coding Alert

Correction:

Fundus Photography, Fluorescein Angiography and ICG

In the article Avoid Fraud: Fundus Photography and Fluorescein Angiography Need Two Separate Reports in the June issue of Ophthalmology Coding Alert, on page 43 there was a typographical error. It said unlike the fundus photography-fluorescein angiography combination, 92250 and 92235 are almost never done together.

Actually, the sentence should have said, unlike the fundus photography-fluorescein angiography combination, 92240 and 92250 are almost never done together. It is fundus photography (92250) and indocyanine-green angiography (92240) which are rarely done together.

We regret any confusion this error may have caused.
