Ophthalmology Fees

Question: Where can I get a list of usual, customary and reasonable fees for ophthalmological services?

New York Subscriber

Answer: A list of usual and customary fees for ophthalmological services can found in The 2000 Physicians Fee and Coding Guide from HealthCare Consultants of America Inc. The guide contains all of the codes in the CPT 2000 manual which includes all ophthalmological services. The guide lists each CPT code, description of the code, Medicare's relative value updates (RVU), Medicare's national average allowance, fee range and relative value derived from HealthCare Consultants of Americas analysis of non-Medicare (i.e. private) charges.
