The provider uses vitamin B2 eyedrops activated by ultraviolet light to strengthen crosslinking of corneal fibers, leading to a stiffer stronger cornea (clear covering of the eye). The provider also may remove the thin layer (epithelium) over the cornea and use pachymetry to determine the cornea’s thickness.
