This is a Proprietary Laboratory Analyses (PLA) code, meaning that the code applies to only one unique lab test made by a specific manufacturer or performed by a specific lab. Report 0536U only for Prenatal Detect RhD by Devyser Genomic Laboratories. This test determines the RhD status of a fetus by analyzing fetal DNA present in the mother's blood. The test uses polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to examine a specific part (exon 4) of the RHD gene, which determines RhD status. A housekeeping gene, GAPDH, is also tested to ensure the sample quality. This test is performed on pregnant individuals who are RhD negative, starting at 10 weeks of pregnancy, and helps guide pregnancy management by identifying whether the fetus is RhD positive or negative.
