The provider uses laparoscopic surgery to implant or replace the components of a neurostimulator system for the lower esophageal sphincter. This includes inserting the electrode array and the pulse generator or receiver, creating a pocket under the skin for the device, and connecting the components. The provider may also perform a cruroplasty and check and adjust the system’s settings during the procedure.
