Summary

Cervicoplasty, aka neck lift, is done to improve the appearance of the neck by removing loose skin and fat from the region and giving a taut look to the skin. Slack skin in the neck may be ascribed to advancing age. Other conditions such as fat deposits in the neck, and retrognathia (a condition in which a receding jaw gives the impression of absence of jawline or chin) may necessitate a cervicoplasty. Fat deposits under the skin in the neck area are sometimes removed through liposuction which is followed by removal of excess skin.
