In this procedure, the provider removes nasal synechia, or adhesions that form in the nose due to the fusion, or connection, of scar tissue that interferes with the passage of air. This condition may occur as a result of trauma, or complication of nasal surgery and the nasal packing. He uses the intranasal approach, meaning he inserts the surgical instruments through the nose.
