The provider performs atherectomy (removal or debulking of plaque inside the artery), possibly with angioplasty (balloon expansion of the narrowed area), for a straightforward lesion (stenosis) in an initial vessel in the femoral and popliteal vascular territory. This territory includes two vessel groups: the common femoral/profunda femoris and the superficial femoral/popliteal arteries. The service includes all access, catheterization, lesion crossing, and imaging guidance. The approach may be open or percutaneous.
