At the same session as an initial femoral or popliteal revascularization service, the provider performs intravascular lithotripsy (a technique that uses sound waves to break up hardened plaque or calcium inside the artery) in one of the femoral or popliteal vessels. This territory includes the common femoral/profunda femoris considered together and the superficial femoral/popliteal considered together. The service includes all imaging guidance and radiological supervision and interpretation needed to complete the procedure.
