In this procedure, the provider manages the process of preparing already frozen and stored hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPCs) for transplantation. The provider thaws each donor’s cells and washes it to remove the cryoprotective solution. He performs this service to remove the solution as well as to remove hemoglobin and debris to make the cells ready for transplantation.
