In this procedure, the provider creates a pouch or other reservoir with a section cut from the small or large intestine. The provider sutures the ureters to the reservoir so that urine drains through the ureters into the reservoir. From there urine is excreted outside. The provider typically performs this procedure after the removal of the bladder.
