Following  separately reportable neuroma excision at the same session, the provider implants a transected nerve end into the bone or muscle in an area away from the threat of repeated injury or trauma. The procedure prevents the recurrence of a neuroma, minimizes the formation of scar tissue, and/or prevents regeneration of the nerve.
