Patient had proximal tear of right adductor magnus tendon. The footprint of the adductor magnus insertion was debrided of all residual soft tissue. The bone surface was roughened. Two Mitek anchors were placed in the medial ischium. Excellent fixation obtained. Suter were then passed sequentially through the adductor magnus tendon in Krackow fashion. Sutures were then sequentially tied bringing the adductor magnus tendon against the ischium.

I have three different opinions on how to code, one person assigned 27098, another person assigned 27385 and a third person, wants to assign CPT 27299 comparison to 27385.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

27299; you could probably use 27385 as the comparison. Was this the only procedure during the case?

Not 27098 - that snip does not describe a transfer
Not 27385 - this is not a quad or hamstring muscle

(Are coders looking at an anatomy book or reading the codes/looking into the CPT and what a procedure would look like before choosing the code?)
Key words: proximal, insertion, and ischium for a coder to understand the anatomical location.
