2027 OB Billing, clarification 2026 billing office visits

Hello,
I've seen others note they are starting to bill out OB office visits. I thought I could start billing out the NOB visits, but that won't work because if they are seen every 4 weeks, they will end up having 4 visits. Which will need to be CPT 59425. Also, we will need to wait for their last visit in 2026 in order to bill out either 59425 or 59426. I don't see how we can get ahead, many will bill out in December. Come mid-October I'd be more comfortable starting to bill out the NOB visits as they come in. Does this sound correct? Ty!

And have your insurers told you to start billing each visit now or not? If they will not accept this billing until January 1 you either hold all your visits until then if you think the patient is going to deliver in 2027, or submit and get a denial and maybe contest the denial starting Jan. 1. I can see why you might want every provider to start leveling each visit so it is ready to go when you can start billing them separately (for practice if for nothing else). But submitting them now as separate visits without insurance guidance seems like extra work that may not get you anywhere. Or am I misunderstanding your intent here?
