Hello all, I came across something today that I'm not sure how to go about doing. A provider documented that a patient has both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Of course, category E10 and category E11 codes are excludes 1 so I shouldn't code these together. However, I was wondering is there a way...

Hello! Can anyone with diabetes / ophthalmology experience help me? I am looking to assign the correct code for diabetes type 1 with background retinopathy. There is a code for unspecified retinopathy, but it isn't unspecified, it is "background". There is a code for other ophthalmic conditions...
