Question 00567 vs 00562 for atrial appendage excision during a CABG

I've been instructed to use 00567 instead of 00562 for these procedures since treating Afib is not the intent of the procedure, it is for the treatment of the CAD. Encoder 360 says that if the procedure involves both coronary and valve work to use 00562. The surgeon does have 33268 to cover his work for this. I'm not sure that I believe that this is correct. Any thoughts or input? Thank you in advance.

CPT 33268 - Exclusion of left atrial appendage, open, performed at the time of other sternotomy or thoracotomy procedure(s), any method (eg, excision, isolation via stapling, oversewing, ligation, plication, clip) (List separately in addition to code for primary procedure) description per 2026 ASA Crosswalk.

Being that this is an add-on code, it's not assigned as ASA code. Therefore, 00567 would be the correct ASA code if supported by the anesthesia record.
