The CPT description for 0232T (Injection(s), platelet rich plasma, any site, including image guidance, harvesting and preparation when performed). If a provider injects PRP into the AC joint/the GH joint & the biceps tendon at the shoulder would this be coded as 0232T for each separate structure injected, the 2 joints & the biceps tendon, 0232T x 3, or would it be coded as 0232T for the same anatomic area, the shoulder? I'm confused on what constitutes a site & would appreciate any direction, references you have for clarification. Thank you kindly

We would not code it more than once. If they are performing it during surgery it is generally not coded separately/included. Unless something has changed recently with that. There was an old CPT Assistant about it. I have not checked lately.
Most carriers other than maybe WC would not cover this as they find it "unproven and not medically necessary".
