Hi all - One of my providers did a sebaceous cyst removal for which I'm planning to bill a 10040, and then she closed with 3 sutures. I'm wondering if 10040 includes the closure or should I bill for the simple repair as well?
Thank you!

Removal of a sebaceous cyst is usually coded as an excision of a benign lesion with a code from the 11400-11446 series based on size and location. A simple closure would be included in the excision code, but an intermediate or complex closure, if performed, could be billed in addition to the excision code.
