Greetings! Can CPT 11755 (biopsy, nail unit) and 11720 (debride nail 1-5) be billed on the same visit (with Medicare) or not? I've looked on Trailblazer, CMS (listed as "allowed" in CCI edits), and Googled the tar out of this to no avail.
Patient presented with apparently mycotic nails and concomitant symptoms so treatment was performed and a biopsy done to determine precisely what the underlying condition was. I billed 99203-25; 11755-T5;11720-59GA. Received payment from Medicare for the E/M portion and the debridement, but denial for the 11755 (denial code CO-B15). Any ideas?
