Our practice was on call this last weekend for another clinic, and saw one of their patients that is s/p RLL basil cell CA removal. The surgeon billed a 13151. She was still in the post op period and my doctor had to suture the wound as it had ripped open. I think my doctor should get paid for this, but also am not sure on the best way to code it. It was a simple closure, 1 layer, and 2.2 cm. My worry is that since we were on call, does that mean we cannot bill since it was in the post op period, or would we be able to with a modifier? I appreciate any thoughts!!
