My provider has a patient that receives intralesional injections of methotrexate for destruction of her squamous cell carcinoma - 17262 describes destruction of malignant lesion using chemosurgery and 96405 describes chemotherapy administration intralesional....I am confused as to which code best describes the procedure, as I think they both describe what we are doing. Doc notes the biopsy proven basal cell carcinoma is injected with methotrexate solution.
