Two questions related to documenting to support neurology billing. I am not very familiar with 1997 DGs or neurology. This is our only department using 1997s.

1. Our neurologists use the 1997 neuro exam for clinical reasons: when the neurologist documents, "cranial nerves 2-12 are intact" do you give credit for all CNs?

2. A comprehensive exam requires an exam of CN 2 and of eyes. If the neurologist documents details of CN 2, is separate documentation of an eye exam necessary?
