I am newly certified and am noticing that anyone hiring wants 1 or more years experience. How are you supposed to get experience as a new coder if everyone wants those that already have experience? Very frustrating.
Usually when they say that its a suggestion. Trying to weed out those who haven't even been trained in coding. Just like many job descriptions mention wanting a 4 year degree. I have no college training and have held many of those positions.
I'm just feeling a little discouraged. I have applied for a few coding positions with the company I work for now and have for 5 years. I have great references and even glowing recommendations from my supervisor and still can't catch a break.
