Quick question, I have a claim for Anthem Medicare that they keep denying the office visit for the NP in the pain management officer, on the same day the patient saw an MD for internal medicine. They keep denying the NP's claim stating the following: Be advised that Medicare regards nonphysicians in. the same group such as Specialist, Nurse Practitioner, Physician's Assistant, Advanced Practice Registered. Nurse, students, Anesthesiology Assistants, Nurse Anesthetist as duplicate services. Plans cannot bill non. physicians with the same service on the same day as the physician or each other without an appropriate modifier.
These are different specialties under the same tax id. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
