2 E&M Visits In 1 Day And An OutPatient Visit

My question is:

Patient comes in to see the doctor in the morning and he a US and has the return in the afternoon after he has the results of the US. Patient has a Missed AB and then doctor sends patient to the hospital that evening for a D&C.

I am thinkinkg I can only bill for the hospital visit and not the E&M visits earlier in the day seen in the office.

i was always taught.. If they are seen in the office and admitted for the same reason you can only bill the hospital and any procedures (ie ultrasound etc).
If your provider is NOT doing the admitting and the procedure then you can bill the offfice visit.
