Hi,

I'm looking for the official reference that allows for (2 locations) HPI elements (with pertinent symptoms to the chief complaint) is allowed for both locations to be coded. Here's an example. There is a wound to the left forearm and then pain in the left tibial area. I'm thinking the CMS said it was o.k., but I can't find the reference source that allows both locations to be counted as part of the HPI. Thanks
