Pt is having abdominal surgery by gnl surgery and fixing broken foot by orthopedist. 2 different specialties, 2 different sites what modifier to use as the same operative session? Thanks

No modifier is needed: each surgeon would submit their own code for the procedure that they are doing. If they assisted each other in the procedure done by the other surgeon they would submit the code for the proceudure that they did along with the code they assisted with an 80 modifier. A 62 modifier is only used if they both submit the same exact code and they worked as co-surgeons for the procedure. Hope that was helpful. :)
