I have a provider who diagnosed a patient with Plantar Fasciitis of left foot. He gave an injection and I questioned the proper documentation for procedure 20550 that he is claiming. He is stating he injected the plantar fasciitis of left foot. My understanding that the plantar fasciitis is a ligament. Would this be considered proper documentation to support CPT 20550.

Plan:
- Discussed with the patient the etiology of these symptoms and treatment option.
- Pt given and injection of 2 cc of .0.5% marcaine And 1 cc of kenalog 40 mg to the plantar aspect of the left heel.
