Regarding cortisone injections primarily.

Patient has Ofc visit + Cortisone inj.

NOW, I know if patient returns for sole purpose of another cortisone injection & dr doesn’t go above and beyond, ofc visit is not chargeable.

We are having patients return with significant time gap since first Cort injection. Say 8-10 months. Dr reviews previous imaging, does very little pertaining to medical decision making - we all know patient just wants another cort injection.

I feel like with such a big time gap since first charged office visit, we SHOULD be charging another low level visit. Not sure!!!

Thoughts? Rules?
