During the Surgical Chart Auditing presentation by Rhonda Buckholtz she mentioned that for surgical case #3 the coding would be 47605-22. Her support, I believe, was stated as per the CCI guidlines. Has anyone heard of this before? Have any of you seen official source (eg. CMS) instructions on this. Thank you. Linda
 
I was instructed to use 47605 in this case with dx code v64.41 as the secondary dx. I have been doing it this way for so long I don't remember where I got that info from. Modifier -22 would need to have documentation sent with the claim. I did not witness Ms. Buchholtz's presentation so my comment may be out of context.
