Hello Everyone...

I need some assistance on how everyone is billing for the facility component of a 23 hour hold in an ambulatory surgery center...

Our in-house coder is saying we should bill w/a 99199 w/the associated revenue code BUT in doing some research it just doesn't seem right...

Any input would be greatly appreciated...

We have had 23 hour stays and you can only bill for the procedure(s) that are performed. 99199 is a medicine code and are not reimbursed in an ASC.
