I have a friend who has started a home care business.She consulted me about how to bill service,and what CPT codes to use.They have CNA's providing 24 hr home care to patients with dementia,stroke history etc. They spend anywhere from 6hrs a day to 12hrs on the weekends.
I have found CPT code 99509 -home visit for assistance with activities of daily living and personal care. Would this be the correct code?
They do not dispense meds,or draw blood.They provide assistance with daily activities of life.This is provided in home and not in skilled nursing facility.This is for patients who want to remain in their home.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
