I need some help...my provider is a Neurologist (therefore we order and perform Video EEGs) and credentialed in Sleep Medicine. Our clinic/office is small, but big enough to have a separate space to perform sleep studies as well as VEEG recordings. The patient comes in for the VEEGs, just like they would if they were having a sleep study done, we have a technician contracted who is on site the entire time, then my physician reads/interprets the report for follow up. I have always billed with a place of service 11 for office, as this was the only appropriate one I could see. We had no trouble with this, even with Medicare patients, until now. Now, the VA has stopped paying and is denying for place of service. Does anyone have any guidance on this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

We perform EEG’s/ sleep studies in office as well and use place of service 11. I have not had any denials for this reason. Could it be denying for a different reason, or maybe credentialing issue?
